The brand was launched in Salt Lake City, USA in 2008 by Chris Beresford, who is active as a professional snowboarder.
The brand was originally called "Dang Loose Shades", a play on the Hawaiian surf culture slang "Hang Loose" (a gesture of holding up the thumb and pinky finger), but the word "loose" was dropped and the brand name was changed to "Dang Shades". Eyewear that is very popular because it is affordable and can be replaced immediately even if you lose or break it. Models filled with a sense of fun that can be used as easily as changing clothes are appearing one after another for a wide range of lifestyle scenes, from activities such as sports and fishing to everyday use such as driving and shopping.
