Only works with nano granules with a grain size of 0.3mm - 0.4mm. The granules only fall out when water has penetrated. Then the fish can nibble at it until it is empty. You should only put a little bit in there and not fill it completely. However, I haven't tried it fully yet. Maybe then no water penetrates and it still trickles through slowly. I use it for daily feeding and only put in the portion that should be eaten. This keeps the fish busy for some time and no food lands on the bottom.
